Why we built BuildSync: construction software for sites, crews and contractors
Construction runs on sites, daily wages and contractor bills that office software was never designed for. Here's what BuildSync does and the problems it was built to solve.
Product storyConstruction businesses are hard to run from spreadsheets. Work happens across several sites at once, crews are paid daily or weekly, materials are ordered for one project and used on another, and contractors bill in stages. Most business software assumes an office. BuildSync is our construction ERP, built for the site.
Projects and sites as the centre of everything
Every record in BuildSync connects to a project and site: clients, contract value, budgets, schedules, progress and status. Each project page shows its workforce, orders, expenses and costs together, so the question 'what has this site cost us?' has one answer.
Attendance that turns into payroll
Daily attendance is marked by project and site — present, absent, half-day, leave and overtime — and a monthly muster shows payable days, holidays and weekly offs. Payroll is generated straight from that attendance on a daily, weekly, monthly or contract basis, with PDF payslips.
Worker advances are recorded with a recovery amount per payroll, so outstanding balances are always visible instead of tracked in a notebook.
Materials from requirement to site
Purchasing follows the real sequence: a site requirement is approved, becomes a purchase order, is received with accepted and rejected quantities, and is issued to the site. Suppliers carry their GST details, and minimum stock levels raise low-stock alerts.
Contractors without the confusion
Contractors get work orders with scope, rates and schedule. Bills, approvals, part or full payments and balances due are tracked against each work order, so nobody has to reconstruct who is owed what at the end of a project.
What head office sees
The dashboard shows period-based project costs, spend and attendance trends, plus the things that need attention: unmarked attendance, payroll awaiting review and low stock. It's a responsive web workspace with mobile navigation, so supervisors can work from site.
We also build websites for developers and builders — including SUA Developers and Rainbow Group — and BuildSync is the software side of that same industry experience.
